Lot 1: DINNER AND VISIT TO PEGGY GUGGENHEIM’S VENETIAN VILLA [4 GUESTS]
Catalog Note: From the cubist masterpieces of Pablo Picasso to the powerful, abstract paintings of Jackson Pollock, the Peggy Guggenheim Museum’s collection of modern art is without equal. See the world-renowned museum in this afterhours experience curated by IfOnly.
Housed in the 18th-century Palazzo Venier dei Leoni and overlooking Venice’s stunning Grand Canal, the Peggy Guggenheim Museum is a work of art in itself. Explore the iconic venue after it closes to the public. Alongside an art expert, your group will investigate the works of major modernists including Salvador Dali, Max Ernst, Duchamp, Kandinsky, Man Ray, Rothko, Mondrian, and Joseph Cornell, as well as a spectacular garden pavilion housing lesser-known and underappreciated artists.
After the tour, you and your guests will be treated to an exceptional Venetian dinner at Do Forni (or a similar restaurant). Dine on handmade pasta dishes and expertly grilled steaks, sample regional wines, and revel in Do Forni’s congenial Italian atmosphere while enjoying a multi-course feast.
Funds from this experience will benefit Friends of Florence. As the primary source of funding for Florentine restoration, the non-profit organization is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the cultural and historical integrity of the arts in Florence and surrounding areas.
